The Lead Route Driver is responsible for leading a group of Route Drivers in their day‑to‑day duties.

• Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – completion of route
• 5–15 hours of overtime may be required each week
• May be required to cover variable shifts based on business needs
• Voluntary overtime on weekends (as needed)
• Paid overtime at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• Starting wage: $21.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience

• Complete routes for absent employees
• Assist drivers with daily morning duties (sorting freight, loading trucks, etc.)
• Help train new drivers during the initial period
• Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers
• Inspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle
• Load the truck in an organized manner to use space efficiently and protect packages
• Collect payments for certain packages delivered
• Verify the content of pickups on shipping papers
• Notify management of any problems or discrepancies
• Maintain a professional appearance and keep the vehicle clean
• Participate in weekly meetings and communicate goals and assignments
• Travel may be required
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Ability to operate a manual transmission, or willingness to learn
• Good customer service and organizational skills
• Leadership skills and the ability to make quick decisions

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record that meets company standards

• Pass a DOT physical exam
• Bend, lift, twist, climb stairs, and move freight on and off the company vehicle
• Lift and move freight weighing up to 100 pounds
• Work with all freight types, including hazardous material, perishable food, alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
