We are currently seeking a motivated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join a dynamic outpatient rehabilitation team in Texas. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with patients recovering from orthopedic injuries, surgeries, neurological conditions, sports-related injuries, and other physical impairments while helping them achieve their functional goals.

Position Overview

The Physical Therapist Assistant will work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to implement individualized treatment plans and provide high-quality patient care. The PTA will assist patients in improving mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and overall functional independence in an outpatient clinical setting while practicing in accordance with the Texas Physical Therapy Practice Act and Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners (TBPTE) regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Administer physical therapy treatments and interventions as delegated by and under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, transfer training, neuromuscular re-education, and functional mobility programs.
  • Observe, document, and communicate patient responses and progress to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, wellness strategies, and injury prevention techniques as directed by the Physical Therapist.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation of patient care and treatment services.
  • Collaborate with Physical Therapists and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Assist with clinic operations and maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment.
  • Adhere to all applicable state, federal, payer, and facility regulations and policies.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education activities.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program with an Associate Degree in Physical Therapist Assisting.
  • Current Texas Physical Therapist Assistant License issued by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners (TBPTE), or eligibility to obtain Texas licensure.
  • Eligible to practice as a PTA in Texas under the supervision and delegation of a licensed Physical Therapist as required by state law.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain prior to start.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Previous outpatient, orthopedic, sports medicine, or rehabilitation experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative healthcare environment.
