Under the direction of the Surgery Nurse Director, provides direct patient care by assisting the Physician/Surgeon and Charge Nurse with patients. Assists surgeons during invasive and non-invasive procedures, anticipates surgeon’s needs, and hands surgical instruments to surgeon. The certified scrub tech prepares and organizes the operating room, cleans and sterilizes equipment, and maintains a sterile surgical environment. Communicates with Charge Nurse and staff about the patient’s condition and responds quickly and requests assistance when changes occur in the care of the patient.

Verifiable completion of an accredited program in surgical technology.
