The RoleProvide an efficient, high quality domestic service to patients and staff, follow the specific schedule of work relating to defined areas. Duties include cleaning all areas of our health centre clinical and non‑clinical locations – wet mopping, vacuuming, emptying bins, replenishing supplies, cleaning fixtures, furniture and toilet/bathroom areas. A flexible approach to the daily routine is required. Use of economical and safe cleaning agents, following manufacturers’ recommended instructions, and potentially mechanical cleaning equipment, is expected.
Wear protective clothing and complete all daily/weekly sign‑off sheets.
Band 2 roles are not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker or Health and Care Worker visa routes.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern- Based at Renton Integrated Healthy Living Centre
- Part‑time contract (7.2 hours per week)
- Permanent contract
- Working Monday to Wednesday
- Present an efficient, high quality domestic service to patients and staff within the hospital.
- Follow specific schedule of work relating to defined areas, with a flexible approach to daily routine.
- Use cleaning agents economically and safely, following manufacturers’ recommended instructions.
- Care for and use mechanical cleaning equipment.
- Inform Supervisor of requirements for work materials and check delivery of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Wear protective clothing supplied by the Department.
- Dispose of waste in accordance with relevant policy.
- Clean crockery, cutlery, utensils, containers and small‑scale equipment manually or through the dish washer in the ward kitchen.
- Work according to pre‑agreed cleaning schedules/frequencies.
- Respond to rectifications following audit within the given timescale.
- Regenerate ward meals and plate up meals as part of ward food service.
- Comply with Infection Control Guidelines, including colour‑coding system and body fluid cleaning in public areas.
- Maintain security at all times: set alarms, distribute keys, close windows and doors securely.
- If included on schedule, hang bed screen/curtain where required.
- Maintain a smart and professional manner at all times.
- Maintain high personal hygiene standards.
- Comply with Health & Safety regulations.
- Knowledge of all aspects of domestic service.
- Training in the use of all machinery used.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety.
- Knowledge of COSHH.
- Knowledge of lifting and handling.
- Knowledge of infection control practices.
- Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Good communication skills.
- Good customer care skills.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable.
