Job Overview

The post holder will assist in basic food preparation and service of all foods in compliance with the Nutritional Requirements for Food and Drinks in schools (Scotland) regulations 2008, comply with all relevant legislation, and set up/clear equipment for food service. The role also includes general cleaning to a high standard of kitchen, dining room, staff rest room and toilets.

The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975.

• Assist in basic food preparation and service of all foods in compliance with relevant regulations.
• Adhere to Food Safety System, Safe Systems of Work and Health and Safety Legislation.
• Set up and clear away equipment for food service.
• Maintain high standard of cleaning for kitchen, dining area, staff rest room and toilets.

• Hold an Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate (essential).
• Membership in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020 scheme (PVG) required; preferred applicants must be members or complete an update check before formal offer.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and previous experience in similar work is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
