Accounts Senior

A well-established firm of Chartered Accountants in Dumfries is seeking an experienced Accounts Senior to join their growing team, offering flexible working, a competitive company pension, and much more. As Accounts Senior, you will take ownership of a varied portfolio of clients, preparing and reviewing statutory accounts while providing mentorship to junior members of the team. You will play a key role in delivering a high standard of client service, working closely with partners and managers to support the continued growth of the practice.

What is the day-to-day of the role:

• Prepare statutory accounts for a variety of clients, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
• Manage a portfolio of clients, building and maintaining strong working relationships
• Review the work of junior staff and provide on the job training and support
• Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and provide accounting advice
• Assist with tax computations and other ad hoc accountancy tasks as required

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Previous experience working within a UK Practice environment
• ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with proficiency in accounting software
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build client relationships
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
