Due to continued growth across our Flooring and Construction businesses, we are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join our team.

This is a varied role covering both pre-construction estimating and the commercial management of live projects. We are looking for someone practical and commercially minded who is equally comfortable visiting a site to measure a job, preparing an estimate and managing the commercial side of a project through to final account.

The Role

Working across both 360 Degree Flooring and 360 Degree Construction, your responsibilities will include:

  • Attending sites to survey and measure potential projects
  • Measuring from drawings and preparing take-offs
  • Preparing estimates, quotations and tender submissions
  • Obtaining and comparing supplier and subcontractor quotations
  • Building up labour, material and subcontract costs
  • Assisting with procurement
  • Preparing and managing subcontract orders
  • Managing project budgets and monitoring costs
  • Identifying, pricing and recording variations
  • Preparing valuations and applications for payment
  • Reviewing subcontractor applications
  • Producing cost-to-complete and project profitability forecasts
  • Attending client and project meetings where required
  • Managing commercial aspects of projects through to final account
  • Working closely with our Managing Director, Construction Manager and site teams
About You

We are looking for someone with experience in Quantity Surveying, Estimating or a similar commercial construction role.

You should:
  • Have a good understanding of construction costs and measurement
  • Be confident carrying out site surveys and measurements
  • Be commercially aware and have good attention to detail
  • Be comfortable working independently and taking ownership of projects
  • Have good IT and Excel skills
  • Be confident communicating with clients, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Hold a full UK driving licence

Experience with in refurbishment, fit-out, flooring or general construction would be advantageous.

We are open to speaking with candidates at different stages of their career and would consider an Assistant QS/Estimator looking to progress if they have the right attitude and experience.
