Early Learning & Childcare Lecturer

Full time, 35 hours per week, Fixed Term for 12 months, Dumfries.

Salary: £41,833 - £50,359 per year depending on qualifications and experience.

Role Overview

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Early Learning & Childcare professional to support learners in achieving qualifications across a range of levels of further and higher education programmes. The Lecturer will deliver and assess high-quality learning programmes in a College committed to excellence.

The role involves facilitating learners’ progress, fostering employability, and supporting personal development.

Qualifications & Profile
  • Minimum of five years’ experience working in an Early Years setting, including at least two years in a management role.
  • Up‑to‑date knowledge of the Early Years Sector.
  • Suitable Early Years qualification at SCQF Level 7 (e.g., HNC/HNC) or above recognised by the Scottish Social Service Council as manager/lead practitioner.
  • Desirable:
    Further Education teaching qualification (support provided to obtain if not held).
  • Strong organisational, communication, IT and digital skills; proficiency in MS Office and relevant job‑specific software or systems.
  • Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively.
  • Empathetic, positive, and motivated, with enthusiasm to guide learners in career or further study.
