Position: 252544 Senior Assistant Management Accountant *PRIORITY*

We are currently seeking candidates for a Senior Assistant Management Accountant (Band
5). This role is ideal for an individual with a passion for finance, strong analytical skills, and a desire to contribute to the effective financial management of NHS services.

You will work within the Management Accounting team, supporting budget holders and senior finance staff with financial reporting, budget setting, variance analysis and business case development. The role involves regular interaction with non‑finance colleagues, requiring clear communication and relationship‑building skills.

What We’re Looking For
  • Essential qualifications and experience
  • HND, AAT Technician level, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum two years’ relevant accounting experience
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Desirable
  • Experience using NHS finance systems (e.g., CEDAR, Business Objects)
  • Understanding of NHS finance structures and reporting hierarchies
