Hours: Fulltime – Shift work between 9am and 7pm and every 6th Saturday 9-5
Contract: Permanent
About the roleThe service provides accommodation and support to single homeless people 16+ and homeless couples 16+ living in our Temporary Supported accommodation. Referrals are made by D & G Homeless Department. The service provides a Housing Support Service with the goal of supporting individuals to develop the skills for independent living and to identify suitable accommodation for move on. Staff work alongside external agencies to ensure that the housing needs of each individual are met.
Our approach is trauma-informed, person-centred, and strengths-based, ensuring that individuals feel safe, respected, and supported to move forward positively.
Health and Wellbeing Co-ordinators play a key role in supporting customers to stabilise their housing situation and access the services they need. This includes providing practical and emotional support, helping customers to claim appropriate benefits, register with local housing providers, and access wider community resources. Where specialist input is required, staff work closely with partner agencies to ensure coordinated and effective support.
All staff receive comprehensive training to ensure they are equipped to meet the needs of our customers. This includes a full induction programme delivered by Wheatley Care, alongside a local service induction and supported shadowing within the service. Ongoing training and development opportunities are provided to support staff in their role and professional development.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar support environment and a sound understanding of the Health and Social Care Standards. They will work in a trauma-informed, objective and non-discriminatory way, recognising the impact of trauma and supporting individuals with empathy, dignity and respect. The postholder will demonstrate a strong commitment to working positively with a diverse range of people, supporting individuals to live safe, fulfilling and independent lives.
