We require an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist with an interest in working in the Acute physical setting to join our team. If you are looking to develop your higher Band 5 skills this post would also be suitable for you. You will be supported by experienced staff and will have the opportunity to develop both clinical and leadership skills.
Job Location & RotationThe post will be based mainly at Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary within the Therapies Department. The rotational programme (6 months) enables you to develop skills both clinically and in leadership, and gain experience across a range of acute hospital specialties including:
- Medical / Surgical including Emergency Department and Admissions Unit
- Orthopaedics
- Rehabilitation
- Medicine for the Elderly
You may also be able to complete a rotation in the Community, delivering rehabilitation services and developing skills in providing ongoing rehabilitation for patients either as outpatients or within their own homes or community hospital. Ability to travel independently is required for this Community rotation.
Work Pattern & SupportThe Acute OT service provides a 7-day service and you would be expected to work at weekends and public holidays as part of an agreed rota, to be discussed at interview.
The service offers a friendly and supportive working environment with active support for CPD, an established supervision appraisal system (TURAS) and work-based training.
