Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking for a dynamic and rewarding role within Acute and Frailty services? Join our dedicated team at Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary, where you’ll make a real difference to patients across Front door services, Frailty Unit and downstream wards. This is a new role and will include scoping out AHPs in Hospital at Home and play a pivotal role in Frailty service development as it evolves across the whole system.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Work as an advanced practitioner OT, undertaking assessments, managing a complex caseload: assessing, setting goals, delivering treatment, progressing care plans and safe discharge planning whilst applying home first principles. This is within Acute and Frailty settings.
- Use advanced clinical reasoning to provide support, expert opinion and advice to the multidisciplinary team.
- Lead in your specialist area, contributing to service development, policy implementation, and monitoring clinical standards.
- Supervise, teach, and evaluate students and staff within your specialty.
- Participate in the weekend and Bank Holiday rota to ensure continuity of high‑quality care.
- A dynamic, adaptable OT capable of managing the daily running of the Frailty unit as required and driving change.
- Strong clinical expertise with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
- Commitment to delivering patient‑centred care and improving outcomes for individuals with complex needs.
- As an advanced practitioner, demonstrate competence within all four pillars of advanced practice and make professional, autonomous decisions that you are accountable for.
