An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic Orthopaedic Team, supporting patients undergoing elective orthopaedic surgery and also trauma patients.
This is a fixed term post until 31st March 27.
Working as part of a well-established multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in ensuring patients receive high-quality assessment, rehabilitation, discharge planning and support throughout their stay. This post offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialist skills within the busy orthopaedic service while contributing to service improvement and enhanced patient outcomes.
- Assess and support patients undergoing elective orthopaedic procedures, including hip and knee replacements.
- Deliver evidence-based rehabilitation and discharge planning.
- Work closely with physiotherapists, nursing staff, consultants and wider multidisciplinary colleagues.
- Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide patient and carer education to maximise independence and recovery
We are seeking an OT who:
- Is HCPC registered
- Has excellent communication and team-working skills.
- Is passionate about delivering patient-centred care.
- Demonstrates strong clinical reasoning and organisational skills.
- Has an interest in orthopaedics and rehabilitation.
- Is flexible with regard to start and finish times as required for patient’s needs
Previous experience within acute care, and orthopaedics is essential.
