Overview
NHS Dumfries & Galloway is looking for an enthusiastic and technically skilled Technical Co-ordinator to join our DDaT Information Services Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of the organisation's information and digital services, supporting the development of modern data, reporting and business intelligence solutions that enable better decision-making and help improve patient care across the region.
Responsibilities- Develop, maintain and support databases, data repositories and reporting solutions including the organisation’s data warehouse and business intelligence platforms.
- Implement data analytics systems, including AI solutions.
- Create and enhance reports, dashboards and data visualisations using Power BI, MS Fabric, Snowflake, Qlik and SQL‑based technologies.
- Work with clinical, operational and corporate teams to understand information requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Support data quality improvement initiatives and ensure information is accurate and reliable.
- Investigate and resolve complex technical and data‑related issues.
- Deliver training, guidance and technical support to users across the organisation.
- Contribute to a wide range of DDaT data projects and digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience working with databases and data management systems.
- Strong SQL skills and an understanding of data extraction, transformation and reporting processes.
- Excellent problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Commitment to delivering high‑quality customer‑focused services.
- Experience with Power BI, Qlik, data warehousing or healthcare information systems is advantageous; training will be provided for the right candidate.
