Position: 252800 Junior IT Support Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior IT Support Engineer to join our User Support team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in IT within a large, complex organisation. You will play a key role in supporting staff across NHS Dumfries & Galloway, helping to ensure our digital services remain reliable and effective in supporting patient care.

What

You’ll Do
  • Provide first line IT support to staff across the organisation and troubleshoot hardware, software, and access issues.
  • Support device deployment, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Work with a range of technologies including Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and endpoint devices.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and specialist teams to resolve issues.
  • Contribute to service improvements and knowledge sharing.
Who we’re looking for
  • Have a keen interest in IT and technology.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Are customer-focused and able to support users at all levels.
  • Are willing to learn and develop within a structured support environment.
  • Previous experience in IT support is desirable but not essential; we welcome applicants at the early stages of their IT career.
