An experienced Mechanical Maintenance professional responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of plant equipment and systems through both reactive and proactive maintenance activities.

• Shift Pattern – 12 Hour Shifts
• Pay: £55,531.94 Gross per year
• Pension above industry standards

• Carry out reactive and proactive maintenance activities across local facilities, with a strong emphasis on compliance and safety.
• Maintain mechanical plant equipment and process machinery, including lifting equipment, high‑pressure steam systems, boilers, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Perform mechanical breakdown repairs on all plant and process equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and operational continuity.
• Oversee boiler operations and high‑pressure steam systems with adherence to safety standards and regulations.
• Support and mentor apprentices by promoting safety, compliance and best practices in mechanical maintenance.
• Proactively report any safety or operational concerns to line management to maintain a safe working environment at all times.

• Entry‑level position with appropriate licences/training certifications.
• Has basic skills in an analytical or technical process.

• Applies basic analytical and technical skills to perform routine activities.
• Understands how the assigned tasks relate to others in the team and how the team integrates with others.
• Uses standard operating procedures to guide own work and solve routine problems.
• Impacts the quality of own work.
• Uses communication skills and common courtesy to exchange information.

• City & Guilds or HNC‑qualified or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
• Time‑served mechanical fitter with post‑qualification experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in steam, hydraulic, pneumatic and fire prevention systems.
• Strong fault‑finding and preventative maintenance skills.
• Quick to learn and understand complex mechanical systems.
• Clear communicator across all levels of the engineering team.
• Organised with a logical, solutions‑focused approach.
