Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Estates & Property Services Department, for a Maintenance Assistant based in Dumfries working on a defined shift pattern.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out fault finding and minor repairs on equipment.
- Change medical gas cylinders, test fire alarms, replace broken glasses, and perform other routine maintenance tasks.
- Operate mechanical and electrical machinery safely, including boiler plant and chemical dosing plant.
- Travel independently between sites and to wholesalers as required.
- Maintain a flexible approach to work; be available to accommodate variations to the standard working week.
- Good verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
- Ability to operate computer‑based software, e.g. boiler management systems.
- Awareness of health and safety legislation and relevant technical standards (training will be provided).
