About Dumfries Music Collective
Dumfries Music Collective (DMC) is an independent, not-for-profit Community Interest Company dedicated to supporting and developing the contemporary music sector across Dumfries & Galloway.
Founded to create meaningful opportunities for young people and emerging creatives, DMC connects local talent with professionals and organisations from across Scotland’s music industry. Through a diverse programme of workshops, talks, mentoring, networking opportunities and live music events, the organisation helps individuals develop their skills, build confidence and take the next step in their creative careers.
Alongside its development programmes, DMC is a passionate advocate for the region’s vibrant contemporary music community. By championing local artists, attracting industry professionals to the area and creating opportunities for collaboration, DMC works to ensure Dumfries & Galloway is recognised as a place where creativity can thrive.

About the RoleWe’re looking for someone who enjoys telling stories, creating engaging content and connecting people with opportunities.
As Marketing Officer you’ll become the voice of DMC, helping audiences discover our events, celebrate local artists and understand the impact our work has across Dumfries & Galloway.
You’ll work alongside our Directors and project staff to plan campaigns, create content and ensure our programmes reach as many people as possible.
No two days are ever the same.
One week you could be:
- Photographing a live gig
- Designing posters
- Interviewing artists
- Managing social media campaigns
- Creating newsletters
- Updating our website
- Producing evaluation reports
- Supporting the launch of a brand-new programme

Key Responsibilities Marketing Strategy- Develop and deliver DMC’s annual marketing strategy.
- Create promotional campaigns for projects, festivals and events.
- Monitor campaign performance and report on audience engagement.
- Support organisational branding and communications.
- Manage DMC’s social media channels.
- Update the DMC website.
- Produce newsletters.
- Design digital marketing materials.
- Create engaging written, photographic and video content.
- Grow online audiences.
- Promote all DMC programmes.
- Work with artists and partners to coordinate promotional activity.
- Capture content at events.
- Monitor ticket sales and adapt campaigns where required.
- Coordinate print production and distribution.
- Support accessibility and inclusion across communications.
- Maintain marketing databases and media contacts.
- Manage the marketing budget alongside the Directors.
- Prepare reports for funders and evaluation.

You’ll be able to demonstrate:
- Experience in marketing or communications
- Strong social media knowledge
- Graphic design skills
- Squarespace experience
- Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite
- Excellent written communication
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to work independently
- Knowledge of Dumfries & Galloway’s creative sector.
