Farming Partners is looking for an ambitious Herd Manager / 2IC to join one of our progressive 500+ cow, grass-based dairy farms in the Dumfries area
.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with good dairy experience who is ready to step up, take more responsibility and develop their career in farm management.

Working closely with the Farm Manager, you'll help lead the day-to-day running of the farm and play an important part in the performance of the herd, grassland and team.

This is a hands-on role with real responsibility. You'll be involved across all areas of the dairy business, including:

• Herd health, fertility, welfare and performance
• Grazing and grassland management
• Helping organise, motivate and lead the farm team
• Monitoring performance and helping achieve farm targets
• Maintaining high standards of animal husbandry and farm presentation
• Supporting and developing other members of the team
• Taking responsibility for the farm when the Farm Manager is away

We're looking for someone who wants to contribute ideas, make decisions and help drive the farm forward.

We're looking for someone with a good grounding in dairy farming who is keen to learn, ambitious and ready for the next step

• Good practical dairy farming experience
• A sound understanding of cows and grass
