Job DescriptionThe HGV Driver will work within Hydro International's UK Wastewater Services (UKWWS) team, supporting water utility companies working on sewage sites across the United Kingdom.
Requirements- Must hold current valid UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Able to work some distance from base, requiring overnight stays.
- Able to work on sites connected with wastewater (sewage).
- Capable of working at heights from scaffold platforms, ladders, or mechanical equipment.
- Undertake training and work as part of a confined space team.
- Must be able to perform tasks that involve physical strength, stamina, standing, kneeling, or crouching.
- Must maintain the vehicle – keep it clean, tidy, and serviceable.
- C+E/HGV 1 licence
- LOLER 1998 appreciation and awareness
- Valid driver’s CPC and Digi card
- Crane Operators licence
- Confined spaces to City and Guilds is desirable
- Slinger/crane supervisor
- Mechanical Engineering background desirable
- At least 2 years’ Class 1 driving experience
- Qualified crane operator with experience
- Experience of British Standard Code of Practice for the safe use of cranes BS7121
- Experience of loading flatbed wagons and securing loads
- Basic knowledge of industrial mechanical fitting
- Basic knowledge of Health & Safety issues in construction industry
- Ability to prioritise workload and work systematically to meet timescales
- Friendly, professional, reliable with good people skills, enjoys supporting a team
- Effective communication with customers, company management & staff
- Work collaboratively with other staff/trades
- Professional conduct, promote a positive company image
- Weekly driving/operating crane and working on sewage treatment sites – require being away from home Monday to Friday regularly.
- Lead all lifting operations, secure loads, and maintain lorry and crane daily.
- Involve lifting, removing, installing machinery and performing manual fitting tasks with mechanical/electrical engineering team.
- Work outside in all weathers; PPE provided.
- Overnight stays in lorry cab; may work Saturday morning for weekly maintenance.
- Competitive salary £35,000 – £45,000 OTE (DOE)
