The Municipality of North Cowichan invites applications for a skilled and self-motivated Building and Plumbing Inspector. This position reports to the Chief Building Inspector and involves inspections for urban, semi-urban, and rural projects. Ensure strict adherence to the BC Building Code and National Plumbing Code of Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct building and plumbing inspections at various construction stages

• Ensure compliance with regulatory codes, guidelines, and bylaws

• Perform bylaw compliance duties as required

• Collaborate with stakeholders for sound recommendations

• Review plans and provide feedback on compliance issues

Requirements:

• Grade 12 completion is mandatory

• Certification as Building Official Level 1, 2, or 3 required

• Three years in local government building inspections preferred

• Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License necessary
