Bookkeeper/ Accounting Clerk
Busy bookkeeping office in Duncan is seeking a part time candidate to perform accounting entries for a variety of our clients. This is NOT a remote position.
We are looking for someone who shares our interest in connecting with the local community and helping small businesses grow with our bookkeeping assistance.
We offer a friendly, cooperative team environment and while you will work mostly independently, a strong team player with a sense of ownership will be a good fit. The successful candidate must be familiar with a personal computer (PC) and have a firm knowledge of accounting, cloud and desktop based versions of Sage and Quickbooks and ideally be familiar with all generally accepted accounting procedures.
Competitive rates that will scale quickly with demonstrated experience. Opportunity to transition to full time for the right candidate.
Responsibilities – for a variety of companies- Monthly/quarterly full cycle bookkeeping duties
- Bank/Visa reconciliations and file review
- Payroll preparation
- Regular communication and reporting to clients
- High School degree; additional experience/education in accounting
- Working knowledge of Sage 50 (desktop and cloud based)
- Working knowledge of Quickbooks (desktop and cloud based)
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel in particular)
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
