Position: Nursing Unit Clerk at Island Health

As a pivotal part of Island Health's team, you will report to the Manager while performing a variety of clerical tasks. Key duties include acting as a communication link by transcribing physician orders, coordinating patient appointments, and managing test results. You will also maintain patient charts and handle data entry, ensuring meticulous record-keeping and effective communication across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transcribe and process physicians’ orders accurately

• Coordinate patient appointments and tests seamlessly

• Maintain and assemble patient charts consistently

• Communicate effectively with visitors and hospital departments

• Ensure efficient data entry and office clerical tasks

Requirements:

• Grade 12 diploma and relevant Nursing Unit Clerk training

• One year of recent related experience preferred

• Proficient in medical terminology and keyboarding

• Strong organizational skills and physical ability

• Effective verbal and written communication skills
