Position: Child and Youth Clinical Counsellor Role
Location: North Cowichan

Join the Cowichan Valley School District as an Integrated Child and Youth Clinical Counsellor, focusing on mental health support for students and families. This role involves therapeutic guidance and school collaboration across the beautiful Cowichan Valley area.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide essential counselling services to children and youth while managing peer support initiatives. Your responsibilities include advocating for diverse needs, leading workshops, and participating in crucial meetings across school and community settings. This position is vital for promoting mental well-being in schools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide therapeutic counselling for children and families

• Liaise between schools and the ICY team

• Attend multidisciplinary team meetings

• Facilitate workshops for families and staff

• Lead counselling groups as needed

Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Psychology or related field

• Registered Clinical Counsellor or Social Worker certification

• 3-5 years of counselling experience with youth

• Knowledge of community mental health resources

• Strong organizational and communication skills
