Street Nurse Program Nursing Coordinator

Join the Street Nurse Program as a Nursing Coordinator, focusing on communicable diseases and client-centered care. This role combines nursing skills with community health outreach.

With a minimum of 5 years in nursing and 2 years in public health, you will be instrumental in counseling and treating STIs, TB, and other communicable diseases. Registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives is essential, alongside your expertise in cultural safety and harm reduction principles. Effective communication and relationship-building with clients are key to success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor clients for communicable diseases

• Provide HIV Partner Notification and pre/post-test counseling

• Advocate harm reduction strategies in practice

• Educate community groups about health resources

• Report health trends affecting target populations

Requirements:

• 5+ years of nursing experience required

• 2 years in public health settings preferred

• Valid BC driver's license

• RN(C) registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives

• STI Certification and Immunization Competency
