Casual Shelter Resource Worker

Make a difference at Lookout Housing and Health Society as a casual Shelter Resource Worker in Duncan, BC. You will support homeless adults facing various challenges and ensure a safe environment every shift.

This position requires dedication and the ability to work various shifts, including evenings and nights, contributing to a 24/7 emergency shelter. As a Shelter Resource Worker, your support will include guest intake, community referrals, and maintaining records. You will also assist new staff and address the needs of challenging clients in a complex environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide supervision and assistance to homeless adults

• Accept referrals and share information with external resources

• Refer guests to community services and necessities

• Maintain accurate records and statistical data

• Comply with health and safety regulations

Requirements:

• Related Certificate or Grade 12 plus two years experience

• Familiarity with community resources

• Current Occupational First Aid Level 1 Certificate

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Criminal Record Clearance – Vulnerable Sector required
