Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing professional grooming services for dogs, utilizing knowledge of canine characteristics, grooming styles, and techniques.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Deliver world-class customer satisfaction

Answer phone calls and schedule appointments

Assist in generating business through calling existing and new customers, scheduling appointments, follow-up calls, and verifying vaccinations

Book appointments and greet pets upon arrival

Report all accidents and injuries promptly to the Store Manager

Follow bathing and grooming procedures as outlined

Perform services such as cleaning ears, clipping nails, and other grooming needs

Adhere to customer instructions regarding clipping patterns

Clip dog’s hair according to patterns using electric clippers, combs, and shears

Comb and shape dogs’ coats

Use techniques to keep animals calm during grooming

Complete and maintain customer and company forms accurately

Observe safety rules and standards

Maintain cleanliness of cages, tubs, and grooming areas

Assist in store operations as needed

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 1-year experience in pet grooming/styling. Comfortable working with dogs and cats. Must provide own grooming tools or be willing to purchase them. High school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of Petsense Paragon Level 1 & 2 training or equivalent experience.

Interaction with pets of various sizes and temperaments
Use of sharp grooming instruments and chemicals
Variable shifts, generally 4 to 8 hours

Physical Requirements

Move and transfer animals and equipment up to 50 pounds
Stand and operate equipment for extended periods
Bend, kneel, and squat as needed
Operate store equipment effectively
Complete documentation accurately
Maintain physical stamina for active work
