Account Manager
As a Cushioning Technical Service Representative, you'll work closely with sales teams to provide technical service, support packaging systems, and grow and promote Sealed Air solutions with customers. You'll provide technical and engineering support across a designated region while building strong relationships with new and existing customers. You'll consult with customers on packaging materials, equipment, and processes, helping them identify solutions that meet their needs.
You'll also contribute to achieving the annual sales forecast for the Protective business within your territory.
- Install and support packaging systems at customer locations, train operators on packaging processes, system capabilities, and safety procedures, and address equipment, health, safety, and environmental questions.
- Troubleshoot and maintain packaging equipment, repair breakdowns, proactively identify potential issues, and recommend improvements to policies and procedures while maintaining high-quality service standards.
- Build technical expertise across Sealed Air's Product Care Solutions, products, and programs and clearly communicate their value to end users.
- Develop trusted customer relationships by understanding customer needs and challenges, providing consultative support, encouraging upgrades, and staying informed on competitor information and industry trends.
- Identify and develop sales opportunities within existing accounts in partnership with the sales team, including service agreements, spare parts, products, equipment, applications, and upgrades.
- Prepare customer quotations and support opportunities that contribute to sales growth and the Protective business forecast within the designated territory.
- Manage service and administrative activities
, including CRM documentation, inventory and problem tracking, travel and expense reports, and other required documentation. - Collaborate across teams with Customer Service, Packaging Application Center, Sales, and other internal partners to resolve customer needs, support smooth order processing, and champion organizational priorities.
- Strong mechanical and equipment troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and troubleshooting charts
. - Knowledge of packaging systems, materials, equipment, and processes
. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Power Point .
- Ability to use CRM systems and service documentation tools for account, inventory, and issue tracking.
- Strong consultative selling, account development, negotiation, and presentation skills
. - Strong customer relationship-building and problem-solving skills
, with the ability to influence decision-making and develop trusted customer partnerships. - Strong communication, organization, time management, and prioritization skills
, with the ability to work independently, collaborate across teams, and travel daily with occasional overnight travel.
