About the Role:
As a Service Technician at EHG Auto of Dundalk LLC, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of our customers' vehicles. Your primary objective will be to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components. You will work closely with the service team to deliver high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer service, contributing to the overall satisfaction and loyalty of our clientele.
This role requires a strong commitment to continuous learning and staying current with the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques. Ultimately, your expertise will help uphold the reputation of EHG Auto as a trusted and professional automotive service provider in the Dundalk, MD area.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a recognized automotive service technician training program or equivalent experience.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in automotive repair and maintenance, preferably in a dealership or professional service environment.
- Basic knowledge of automotive diagnostic tools and equipment.
- ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification or equivalent industry certifications.
- Experience working with computerized diagnostic systems and manufacturer-specific repair procedures.
- Strong understanding of hybrid and electric vehicle systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends if necessary.
- Perform thorough diagnostics and repairs on various vehicle systems including mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.
- Conduct routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks to ensure vehicle safety and performance.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers to explain vehicle issues, repair options, and estimated costs.
- Maintain accurate records of all services performed, parts used, and time spent on each job to support billing and warranty claims.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
The required skills enable the Service Technician to accurately diagnose and repair vehicle issues, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery. Proficiency with diagnostic tools and mechanical systems allows for timely identification of problems and appropriate repair solutions. Strong communication skills are essential for explaining technical information clearly to customers and collaborating with team members. Preferred skills such as ASE certification and experience with advanced vehicle technologies enhance the technician's ability to handle complex repairs and stay current with industry advancements.
