Business Development Manager | APAC | Space Infrastructure & Mission Systems

Scotland or Remote UK

£60,000 base + bonus, commission and outstanding benefits

You’ve built a career selling complex technology into demanding markets. You understand how to navigate long sales cycles, engage technical stakeholders, and turn strategic conversations into lasting commercial partnerships.

We’re partnering with an ambitious, employee‑owned UK Space Tech company that is redefining how space missions are designed, managed and delivered. Their technology is helping organisations move faster, reduce complexity and unlock new capabilities across the space ecosystem.

This is an opportunity to help scale a pioneering Space-as-a-Service platform—an emerging commercial model that is transforming how organisations access space infrastructure, mission operations and space‑enabled capabilities. Already trusted by customers including government agencies, commercial operators, research institutions and innovative technology organisations worldwide, the business is entering an exciting new phase of international growth.

Backed by fresh investment, delivering strong year‑on‑year growth and expanding its global footprint, the company is now investing heavily in the Asia‑Pacific region—one of the most dynamic and rapidly evolving space markets globally. To support this expansion, they are seeking a Business Development Manager to lead commercial growth across APAC and establish new relationships with organisations at the forefront of space, aerospace, defence, geospatial intelligence, Earth observation and autonomous systems.

The

Opportunity

As Business Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for identifying, developing and securing new commercial opportunities across APAC, working with organisations including:

  • Space agencies and satellite operators
  • Aerospace and aviation organisations
  • Defence and national security programmes
  • Geospatial intelligence and Earth observation providers
  • UAV, drone and autonomous systems companies
  • Government, research and institutional organisations
  • Emerging Space Tech and deep‑tech innovators
  • Telecommunications and critical infrastructure providers
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Driving new business development and revenue growth across APAC
  • Building relationships with senior commercial, technical and operational stakeholders
  • Managing complex sales opportunities from qualification through to close
  • Developing and executing strategic account growth plans
  • Identifying and securing new customers within defined target sectors
  • Representing the business at major industry events, conferences and trade exhibitions
  • Maintaining a structured opportunity pipeline through Salesforce
  • Contributing to forecasting, commercial planning and market intelligence activities
  • Identifying opportunities to expand customer value across a growing portfolio of space capabilities and services
  • Working closely with leadership to shape the company’s international growth strategy
What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years’ success in complex B2B technology sales or business development
  • A proven track record of generating and closing new business opportunities
  • Experience selling into technical, engineering or mission‑critical environments
  • Strong commercial instincts and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder groups
  • Confidence engaging with both executive decision‑makers and technical experts
  • Experience managing sales pipelines and CRM platforms such as Salesforce
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial approach to business development
  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship‑building skills
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required
Particularly Relevant Backgrounds

We’d be especially interested in hearing from professionals with experience in:

  • Space and satellite technology
  • Aerospace and aviation systems
  • Defence and security technology
  • Geospatial and Earth observation markets
  • UAV, drone and autonomous systems
  • Telecommunications and network infrastructure
  • Mission‑critical software, hardware or systems integration
  • Deep‑tech and advanced engineering sectors

Additional language skills such as Japanese, Korean or Mandarin would be advantageous but are not essential.

Why Join?

Beyond the opportunity to help shape the future of commercial space infrastructure, you’ll join an employee‑owned business where every individual has a stake in the company’s success.

Benefits
  • Extensive annual leave above and beyond typical offerings
  • Flexible and remote‑first working environment
  • Enhanced parental leave and pay
