** office, this role offers hybrid working alongside regular travel across our services and locations. You'll work closely with teams across Cornerstone, building relationships and providing visible, practical health and safety leadership.

As our
** Health and Safety Lead**, you'll play a key role in ensuring our approach to
** healthand safety
** supports this purpose while meeting our legal and regulatory responsibilities.
You'll be Cornerstone’s competent person for
** health and safety**, helping colleagues understand legal requirements, manage risk effectively and embed a positive, proportionate safety culture.
This is a broad and influential role, combining strategic oversight with practical support. You'll help shape and continuously improve Cornerstone’s health and safety framework, providing assurance that our policies, system sand practices are effective, proportionate and compliant.
You'll help translate legislation and good practice into approaches that work in the context of our services andplay an important role in using data, audit findings and incident learning to identify risks and drive meaningful improvement.
** Key responsibilities
*** Act as Cornerstone’s competent person for health and safety, providing expert advice and guidance across the organisation.
* Maintain and continuously improve health and safety policies, systems, procedures and guidance.
* Develop and deliver audit, inspection and assurance programmes, identifying areas for improvement.
* Provide practical advice on risk assessments, safe systems of work and legal compliance.
* Analyse health and safety performance data and produce clear reports, trends and recommendations.
* Support incident investigations, root cause analysis and organisational learning.
* Work with managers to implement effective, proportionate and sustainable health and safety practices.
* Support engagement with regulators, inspectors, insurers and professional advisers.
* Contribute to the development and delivery of health and safety training and capability-building programmes.
** What we're looking for
** You'llbe an experienced
** health and safety
** professional with the knowledge and confidence to balance legal compliance, effective risk management and operational requirements.
We'll need you to be comfortable working at both a strategic and practical level, providing clear advice and building effective relationships with colleagues across a large, multi-site organisation.
** Essential qualifications and experience
*** Relevant occupational health and safety qualification, such as a
** NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (SCQF Level 10)**.
* Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
* Experience in a health and safety advisory, assurance, compliance or risk management role.
* Experience of audits, inspections, investigations and risk assessments.
* Ability to interpret legislation and translate complex requirements into clear, practical guidance.
* Strong communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
* Strong analytical skills, with experience using data to identify trends, risks and areas for improvement.
* Experience working across a dispersed, multi-site organisation.
* Experience with in social care, health, housing, the third sector or another regulated environment.
** Desirable
* ** Certified or Chartered membership of IOSH or an equivalent professional body.
* Experience working with regulators, inspectors, auditors, insurers or external advisers.
