Estimator, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveyor
Peace Recruitment is working with a well-established and growing civil engineering contractor looking to add an Estimator to its commercial team.
The level of the appointment is flexible. Whether you're an experienced Estimator looking for your next move or an Assistant/Junior Estimator looking to develop your career, there is scope to tailor the position around your experience.
The business continues to grow year-on-year and is investing in its estimating team to increase tendering capacity and support its future workload.
The Role
You'll be involved in pricing a range of civil engineering and groundworks projects.
Responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing tender enquiries, drawings and specifications
- Carrying out accurate take-offs and quantity measurements
- Preparing cost estimates for labour, plant, materials and subcontract packages
- Obtaining and reviewing supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Producing competitive tender submissions
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities within tenders
- Working closely with the wider commercial and operational teams
- Using Causeway for estimating and pricing
- Supporting the business in securing profitable new projects
About You
Ideally, you'll have previous estimating experience within civil engineering, groundworks or a related construction environment.
For more experienced candidates, a strong track record of independently pricing groundworks and civils projects would be preferred.
For Assistant or Junior Estimators, the business is open to developing someone earlier in their career, although some previous estimating exposure and a good understanding of take-offs would be advantageous.
Previous experience using Causeway would also be beneficial but isn't essential.
What's on Offer?
- Up to £70,000 salary, depending on experience
- Opportunity available from Assistant/Junior Estimator through to experienced Estimator level
- Car or car allowance depending on seniority
- Healthcare potentially available depending on level
- Long-term career opportunity with a growing Scottish civil engineering contractor
- Strong pipeline and continued investment in the business
- Flexible start date for the right candidate
The role is predominantly office based.
