Department of Endocrinology & Diabetes, Ninewells Hospital & Medical School, Dundee

Consultant in Endocrinology, Diabetes and General Internal Medicine

PERMANENT / FULL TIME

Applications are invited for a Consultant in Endocrinology, Diabetes and General Internal Medicine based at Ninewells Hospital & Medical School in Dundee. This post is to enhance the delivery and development of endocrine, diabetes, general internal medical services to the population of Tayside with additional requirements to deliver acute unscheduled care to the Acute Medical Unit at Perth Royal Infirmary

Applicants should have established skills in endocrinology and diabetes with relevant experience in subspecialty areas (e.g. pituitary, metabolic bone, thyroid cancer, antenatal diabetes, diabetes technology, young adult/transitional endocrine/diabetes), although the applicant will have the opportunity to develop such subspecialty interests. Strong generalist skills are required for both the delivery of speciality outpatient clinics and acute unscheduled care. As a teaching hospital the applicant should demonstrate a strong commitment to Undergraduate and Postgraduate teaching.

Strong links with the University of Dundee bring opportunities for the development of research interests.

Consideration will be given to applicants who wish to work full or part time and those wishing to job share.

You must be registered with the General Medical Council and hold a Licence to Practice. The successful applicant should possess MRCP and be included on the Specialist Register for Endocrinology/Diabetes plus General or Acute Internal Medicine or within 6 months of CCT, or already in possession of CESR (CP) at the date of interview for the post.
