Overview

Secondary English Teacher. Prospero Teaching is working in partnership with a secondary school in Southampton to recruit a fully qualified English Teacher to teach Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, starting ASAP. This is a part-time position, three days per week, with full planning and marking responsibilities. The school is looking for a committed and passionate English specialist who can deliver engaging lessons, maintain high standards of teaching and learning, and support pupils progress in both language and literature.

• Teach English Language and Literature to KS3 and KS4 students
• Plan and deliver high-quality engaging lessons
• Complete marking, assessment, and feedback in line with school policies
• Track pupil progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs
• Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment
• Work collaboratively with the English department and wider staff team

• Fully qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS required)
• Specialism in Secondary English
• Experience teaching KS3 and KS4
• Strong behaviour management and classroom presence
• Confident with planning, assessment, and marking
• Passionate about English and student achievement

• Upsafeguarding training (can be provided)

• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Ability to provide two professional references from recent teaching roles
