Overview
Secondary English Teacher. Prospero Teaching is working in partnership with a secondary school in Southampton to recruit a fully qualified English Teacher to teach Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, starting ASAP. This is a part-time position, three days per week, with full planning and marking responsibilities. The school is looking for a committed and passionate English specialist who can deliver engaging lessons, maintain high standards of teaching and learning, and support pupils progress in both language and literature.
Responsibilities- Teach English Language and Literature to KS3 and KS4 students
- Plan and deliver high-quality engaging lessons
- Complete marking, assessment, and feedback in line with school policies
- Track pupil progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs
- Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with the English department and wider staff team
- Fully qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS required)
- Specialism in Secondary English
- Experience teaching KS3 and KS4
- Strong behaviour management and classroom presence
- Confident with planning, assessment, and marking
- Passionate about English and student achievement

Temporary / ongoing - Pay Rate:
Up to GBP
260 per day (depending on experience)
- QTS/QTLS essential
- Proven experience teaching English at secondary level
- Upsafeguarding training (can be provided)
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Ability to provide two professional references from recent teaching roles
