MANDATORY Specialist Role Requirements

This is a specialist, DSA-funded role, meaning all candidates must strictly adhere to the qualification framework set out by the Department for Education (DfE).

You MUST possess the following:
  • Undergraduate Degree (Level 6 minimum).
  • A recognised Teaching Qualification.
  • Extensive Training in Adult Autism, which may include:
    • Option 1: 6 National Autistic Society Modules (Non-Medical Helper package). The modules cover Understanding Autism, Communication, Sensory Experience, Stress and Anxiety, Supporting Families, and Autism and Girls.
    • Option 2:
      The Optimum Training Course focusing on Autism and ADHD in Higher Education.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage a caseload of students.
  • A track record of punctuality, reliability, and professional conduct.
  • Ability to confidentially identify and leverage a student's learning strengths.
