This Cover Supervisor role offers a full‑time, temporary to permanent opportunity starting in September 2026. The Cover Supervisor will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning by supervising classes during teacher absence and supporting pupils to remain engaged with set work. This role is ideal for someone confident working with young people, seeking a long‑term opportunity with progression to a permanent position.
Dutiesas Cover Supervisor:
- Supervise whole classes during short‑term teacher absence
- Deliver pre‑prepared lesson materials and ensure pupils remain on task
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Support pupils’ engagement, focus, and understanding of set work
- Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress and behaviour
- Support pupils with additional needs to access learning where required
- Maintain a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment
- Assist with transitions between lessons and activities
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school procedures at all times
- Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational or similar setting
- Confident classroom presence and strong behaviour management skills
- Ability to engage and motivate pupils across a range of abilities
- Calm, organised, and reliable approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexible and adaptable attitude
- Willingness to start on a temporary basis with the opportunity to become permanent
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Your salary – dependent on experience – is paid weekly through PAYE – that means no self‑employed or umbrella companies.
