The Space Lead is expanding its Expert Network to explore transformative material science solutions critical for the advancement of the space industry. We seek to identify and evaluate novel materials and processes that can enable next-generation space systems and infrastructure.

We are inviting specialists (from academia, research institutions, and commercial entities) to join this voluntary, non-salaried exploratory initiative as part of our network. Your expertise will contribute to shaping early-stage concepts and identifying high-potential avenues for development.

Stay ahead in space, autonomy, and deep tech.

Ideal candidates will possess deep knowledge in one or more of the following areas related to space applications:

  • Advanced Material Science (e.g., composites, ceramics, metallics, polymers, metamaterials – from academic research or industry application)
  • Computational Materials Science, Chemistry, or Physics
  • Material characterization and testing for extreme environments (radiation, thermal, vacuum)
  • Manufacturing processes for space-grade materials
  • In-Situ Resource Utilization (ISRU) related materials challenges

Role within the Expert Network:

  • Contribute to periodic discussions on specific material challenges and opportunities in the space sector.
  • Provide insights on emerging material technologies and their potential impact.
  • Assist in evaluating the feasibility of new material concepts for space.

This is an opportunity to collaborate on pioneering ideas with potential for future engagement on specific, funded projects should they materialize from this exploratory phase.
