Field Service Engineer - Compactors & Balers

South West England – Ideally based in Gloucester, Bristol, Cardiff, Newport, Weston‑Super‑Mare, Taunton, Bridgwater or surrounding areas

£38,000 – £39,000 + Overtime (OTE £50,000) + Company Vehicle + Benefits

A well‑established and growing environmental services business is looking to add an experienced service engineer to cover their regional southwest patch (no national travel & constant stayaways).

This role is primarily focused along the M5 corridor, covering areas from Gloucester southwards, with occasional travel into South Wales. You’ll be joining a team of 20+ Service Engineers, supporting a wide range of customers across multiple industries.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who can hit the ground running and already has experience working on compactors and balers. You’ll be exposed to a variety of machine types, manufacturers, and customer environments, making this a varied and rewarding field‑based position.

• Service, maintenance and repair of compactors and balers
• Fault finding and breakdown response across customer sites
• Planned preventative maintenance and inspections
• Working on a wide range of equipment and machine types
• Covering a regional patch across the South West territory

• Previous experience working on compactors and/or balers is essential
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault‑finding skills
• Ability to work independently in a field‑based role
• Full UK driving licence
• Customer‑focused approach with strong communication skills

• £38,000 – £39,000 basic salary
• 40‑hour week
• Regional travel only
• Overtime available
• Realistic OTE of £50,000
• Ongoing support from a large, experienced engineering team
