We currently have an exciting opportunity for anyone who wishes to pursue a career in Public Sector Finance. An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accounting Officer to join NHS Tayside Financial Services, based in Dundee. This post is based in Mac Kenzie Building, Ninewells Campus, Dundee. The role offers the opportunity to shape and develop your career in a fast paced, complex and rewarding environment, where we actively support our staff’s learning & development, through to ensuring we look after your health & wellbeing.

You will work within a team of forward‑thinking professionals in Finance whilst also working in parallel with other services. You will provide a comprehensive financial accounting service to ensure a robust financial ledger to ensure effective budgetary control and financial balance, while demonstrating your proactive approach, initiative and ability to prioritise workload.

The Financial Accounting function within Financial Services is primarily responsible for ensuring that an effective Financial Ledger service is provided for NHS Tayside. This involves efficient, accurate and timely preparation and processing of computer input journal entries and working papers to meet all month end and annual reporting deadlines.

We are looking for an individual, with accounting knowledge, good analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, to come and join our team to provide a comprehensive financial accounting service.
