Principal Planning Officer
Location: South West
Salary: £55 per hour
Duration: 3 months initially
OverviewThis newly created role is driven by increased workload from local area development, focusing on town centre regeneration. The position is designed for an experienced planner who can start contributing immediately with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities- Lead and deliver major planning applications.
- Work independently and collaboratively within the planning team to maintain high service standards.
- Coordinate site visits and key meetings as required, with flexible office presence.
- Support the authority’s rapid growth and evolving planning initiatives.
- Substantial experience in planning, particularly with major applications.
- Strong understanding of local authority processes and regeneration projects.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
