Position: Pharmacist (Dispensary Department)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Band 6 / 7 / 8 Pharmacist for Bank Work in Dundee for the NHS. To take on the final accuracy checking within our Pharmacy Dispensary. This position offers an exciting opportunity to oversee the daily operations of the dispensary, ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and patient‑centred pharmaceutical services.

This is from as soon as possible to the 31/05/2025, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:45 pm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the dispensing of prescriptions, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and professional standards.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives for the dispensary.
  • Provide expert clinical advice and support to staff and healthcare professionals.
  • Manage stock control, procurement, and formulary compliance within the dispensary.
  • Ensure compliance with medicines management and governance frameworks.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance integration and efficiency across pharmacy services.
What We’re Looking For

We are looking for candidates that meet the following qualifications, experience, skills, and knowledge requirements.

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Pharmacy (MPharm) or equivalent.
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or management is desirable.
Experience
  • Must have 6 months paid NHS experience.
  • Significant post‑registration experience in hospital or community pharmacy, including experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proven track record in managing dispensary operations and delivering service improvements.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Organisational skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of medicines legislation and good dispensing practice.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate a team while maintaining high professional standards.
