About the Organisation:

In June 2025, the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care introduced two key frameworks: the Population Health Framework and the Service Renewal Framework (SRF). The SRF sets out an ambitious vision to drive innovation and enable more integrated delivery across Scotland’s health and care services. As part of this transformation, NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) will come together to form a new organisation:
Public Services Delivery Scotland in April 2026. The new organisation will play a pivotal role in supporting the renewal and long‑term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland. The Post:

As a major division within the NHS National Services Scotland, the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) plays a vital role not only in the health of the people of Scotland but also on an international scale – through our leading position in new product development, biomedical research and donor services. Our goal is to maintain the highest standards to patient care whilst remaining internationally competitive.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the multidisciplinary Donor Services Admin Office, following a hybrid working pattern of home and office working.

The Donor Services Support Officer (DSSO) is responsible for providing clerical and administration support in all areas of Donor Services, participating in the overall delivery of excellent service to donors and members of the public. The post‑holder will be dealing directly with members of the public so good communication skills are essential.

Post‑holder will work as part of a team to ensure essential information is accurately recorded and updated in a timely manner; good organisational skills and attention to detail are required for all aspects of the job.

The Candidate:

Candidates must be educated to higher grade level or demonstrate equivalent experience. We are seeking an individual with a customer‑focused approach, who is organised and adaptable. You must also possess excellent communication skills, have the ability to multitask and be able to work under pressure.

A good to high working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and good keyboard skills are essential. An understanding of Web‑based products is desirable. Knowledge of Donor Services and current systems within SNBTS is essential.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a PVG Scheme check. Any candidate who has lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.

Location and Working Pattern:

Ninewells, Dundee

Currently hybrid working

Monday to Friday, 20 hours per week typically 10am‑2pm but will consider other flexible working times.

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with PSDS.
