Advanced Healthcare Science Practitioner12-month Fixed term/Secondment
A 12-month fixed term Advanced Healthcare Science Practitioner post has become available within the East of Scotland Regional Genetic Laboratory Service, Ninewells Hospital, Dundee. The successful applicant will be joining a team of scientific and technical staff to deliver complex analysis and reporting for a range of rare and inherited disorders. The main focus for the post holder will be the analysis and reporting of variants identified from next generation sequencing.
Knowledge of next generation sequencing techniques and interpretation of variants in rare and inherited disorders is therefore highly desirable. The individual must be proactive, able to prioritise their workload and work well in a team.
The laboratory provides a modern, high-quality genomic testing service for NHS Tayside and the rest of Scotland through the Scottish Strategic Network for Genomic Medicine. Co-located with other laboratory disciplines within Ninewells Hospital, the laboratory provides a testing service for inherited disorders, acquired disease (solid and haematological malignancies) and pharmacogenomics. In addition, the laboratory is the designated national centre for non-invasive prenatal testing.
The Dundee laboratory offers high standards in terms of facilities and expertise to support staff professional and career development.
