Cardiology Department Cardiology Nurse Specialist, Band 7/Trainee, Band 6 Annex 21 para 2 (i) Full Time – 37 Hours Mon-FridayThere is an exciting opportunity for an experienced registered nurse to work with the well‑established specialist nursing teams within Cardiology. The successful applicant will become an integral part of the specialist nursing team. You will be supported not only to develop your skills and knowledge within the speciality but also to develop an understanding of the key skills and attributes of the specialist nurse role.
You will support the existing team members to provide specialist nursing interventions to patients with a range of cardiac diseases & conditions. This includes the assessment of newly diagnosed acute coronary syndrome, myocardial infarction arrhythmia, post‑surgery patients and the review and assessment of patients in outpatient clinic settings.
The post holder will assist in leading in the delivery of nurse‑led cardiac care for patients across Tayside & North East Fife across a range of cardiac specialties, with an initial focus on cardiac rehabilitation, along with the development of knowledge and skills within arrhythmia and heart failure. The post involves working closely with all members of the multi‑disciplinary team over primary and secondary care and requires the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
Whilst based in Ninewells Hospital the post holder may be asked to deliver services across Tayside.
You must be registered on Sub‑part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub‑part 2: RN2 of the UK NMC Register. You will have evidence of continuing professional development being educated to degree or working towards. Experience in a cardiology setting and extensive post registration experience. Ideally experience in a leadership role with a drive for growth & development.
You will be involved in collaborative working, therefore, strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills are essential. You must be able to travel across Tayside as the post may involve working across all sites which includes Angus, PRI and Ninewells.
