Job Title:

Psychologist – Learning Disabilities & Complex Care

Banding:
Band 8a/b equivalent

Working Hours:

3 days per week | Monday–Friday | 9:00am–5:00pm

Contract:

Temporary/Locum (until permanent appointment made)

Salary:

Pulse is working with a specialist inpatient provider in Dundee to recruit an experienced Psychologist to support adults with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorder and complex presentations. This is a part-time locum opportunity (3 days per week) within a highly supportive multidisciplinary team, offering excellent clinical exposure and flexible working.

Responsibilities
  • Provide psychological assessment, formulation and intervention for adults with learning disabilities and/or autistic spectrum disorder
  • Work with individuals presenting with complex needs and behaviours that challenge
  • Contribute to care planning and risk management using evidence-based approaches
  • Work collaboratively within a full MDT including psychiatry, nursing and therapy colleagues
  • Support positive behaviour support planning and trauma-informed care
  • Contribute to reports, reviews and clinical discussions, ensuring high standards of care
  • You will have the autonomy to shape your clinical input while being fully supported by an experienced team.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential / Minimum:

  • HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist
  • Experience working with learning disabilities
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex presentations and/or autistic spectrum disorder
Desirable (but Not Essential)
  • Inpatient or high-dependency setting experience
  • Experience with positive behaviour support or trauma-informed approaches
