Overall Purpose
Search is working with a growing accountancy firm that's looking to bring in an experienced Payroll Manager to help elevate their payroll offering. This is a great chance to join a business that's investing in its people, its technology, and its long‑term growth.

You'll take ownership of the payroll function, guide a team, and ensure clients receive a reliable, forward‑thinking service. If you enjoy modernising processes, building strong client relationships, and shaping how a function develops as the business grows, this role will be a strong match.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Management That Makes an Impact
Lead accurate, compliant monthly and weekly payrolls while resolving daily client and internal queries

Policies, Processes & Improvement
Develop compliant payroll procedures, streamline workflows, and keep policies updated

Team Leadership & Collaboration
Manage the payroll team, drive organised problem‑solving, and collaborate across the practice

Beyond Payroll
Support wider finance responsibilities, help shape an efficient future‑focused function, and maintain seamless processes

Payroll Expertise with Real‑World Practice Experience
You've worked in practice and understand the pace, expectations, and client‑focused nature of the environment

Experience Creating & Improving Payroll Procedures
From setting up new systems to refining existing processes, you enjoy making things better
