Lead enterprise operations to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable IT services while growing and empowering high‑performing teams.
We are looking for a Sys Ops Manager who will lead high‑performing operations teams responsible for the reliability, availability, and performance of enterprise platforms and services. In this role, you will own the operational lifecycle of infrastructure and core systems, ensuring stability, resilience, and predictable service delivery across a globally distributed environment.
The Sys Ops Manager bridges day‑to‑day IT operations with long‑term platform strategy—balancing proactive maintenance, incident response, capacity planning, and continuous improvement. This role combines strong people‑leadership with deep operational expertise, enabling teams to deliver dependable, secure, and scalable services that support both internal teams and client‑facing platforms.
Role responsibilities- Manage and mentor Systems Operations engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Support team members' professional development and operational maturity.
- Own operational service delivery for infrastructure and core platforms, including uptime, performance, patching, backup, and recovery.
- Ensure systems meet defined SLAs, SLOs, and availability targets.
- Lead incident response, escalation, and root cause analysis (RCA) processes.
- Drive corrective and preventive actions to reduce recurrence and improve mean time to resolution.
- Establish and maintain operational standards, runbooks, and procedures for systems management, change execution, and service continuity.
- Partner closely with Architecture, Dev Ops, Security, and Application teams to ensure operational readiness for new platforms, releases, and architectural changes.
- Oversee monitoring, alerting, and observability capabilities to ensure proactive detection of issues and data‑driven operational decision‑making.
- Manage vendor relationships related to infrastructure, hosting, and managed services. Hold vendors accountable to performance and support commitments.
- Plan and execute capacity management, lifecycle planning, and infrastructure modernization initiatives to support growth and evolving business needs.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 7–10 years of progressive experience managing enterprise IT infrastructure and platforms across hybrid environments.
- 3+ years of experience leading technical teams or operating in a formal people‑leadership capacity.
- Strong expertise managing enterprise infrastructure across compute, storage, networking, and operating systems in both on‑premises and public cloud environments (AWS and Azure).
- Deep experience administering Microsoft enterprise platforms including Windows Server, Active Directory, SQL Server, and Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, Defender).
- Hands‑on experience with infrastructure automation and infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Formation, or CI/CD platforms like Git Hub, Azure Dev Ops, or Jenkins.
- Proven experience implementing and operating monitoring, alerting, and incident response frameworks in high‑availability environments.
- Strong understanding of security, resilience, and operational best practices including patch management, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Experience operating in environments where service reliability, uptime, and customer impact are critical.
