The Opportunity
We are seeking a Data Scientist to join our team in the United Kingdom. In this role, you will apply statistical analysis, machine learning, and data modelling techniques to solve complex business problems and generate actionable insights.
Working closely with stakeholders, engineers, and business teams, you will help design and develop analytical solutions that support decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and drive business value.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities
- Develop, test, and maintain statistical and machine learning models
- Perform data preparation, feature engineering, and exploratory data analysis
- Design and evaluate experiments to measure model performance and business impact
- Build data visualisations and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business challenges and translate them into analytical solutions
- Support the deployment, monitoring, and enhancement of predictive models
- Document methodologies, assumptions, and results to ensure transparency and reproducibility
- Stay current with developments in data science, machine learning, and analytics
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or another quantitative discipline
- 2–5 years of experience in data science, analytics, machine learning, or a related field
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
- Experience applying statistical analysis and machine learning techniques to real-world problems
- Experience working with large and complex datasets
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field
- Experience with in financial services, banking, asset management, fintech, consulting, or other data-driven industries
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as Scikit-learn, Tensor Flow, or Py Torch
- Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Knowledge of model deployment and MLOps concepts
