Role Overview

In a Nutshell…

We have an exciting opportunity for an operationally focussed Project Manager to lead on a large innovation project within the Vistry Group.

Working alongside, and as part of the Vistry Works Construction team, the successful candidate will report directly into the Vistry Works Operations Director. As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for implementing and managing a groundbreaking project on numerous construction sites within the group. You will lead a core team of internal and external stakeholders from different disciplines, with an emphasis being placed on driving growth, demonstrating efficiencies across numerous areas, and the planning of the works to achieve this.

Working with the project team, you will drive and develop all aspects of the project, including technical and design, innovation, commercial, procurement, manufacture, planning, logistics and construction. You will create an ‘overall’ project plan, along with several ‘key’ strategic plans that support it. You will be responsible for the day to day running of the project and will be expected to bring all members of the team ‘together’ to achieve the overall project goal.

You will be expected to formulate a detailed plan that shows the scalability of the project, with clear growth and efficiencies targeted and identified.

The successful candidate will be expected to prepare frequent reports for senior management within Vistry group, and present on the progress of the project as and when required.

The Project Manager will also be expected to help create and manage a business wide and training programme, which will be implemented across numerous departments.

  • Experience operating on large volume, fast paced developments within the new build housing sector
  • Proven track record of planning/programming timber frame/ MMC construction.
  • A background with an emphasis on Construction, and a good awareness of technical processes
  • History of working within, or closely alongside Production/Construction departments
  • A good working knowledge and experience of Timber Frame/MMC construction
  • Experience of managing Timber Frame erecting gangs
  • Proven background of working autonomously and as part of a team
  • An ability to use written and verbal forms of communication effectively with all stakeholders and to keep people engaged and updated throughout the build process and at key times.
  • Good level of IT skills and proficient in numerous packages such as MS Excel/PowerPoint/Word, Coins and Asta
  • Experience in forming teams and developing a culture where the highest of standards are expected and maintained
  • Sound understanding of Building Regulations and NHBC standards.
  • Commercially astute with a strong awareness/experience of working with budgets/constraints and ensuring company targets are achieved
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and engage people operating within all levels of the business either directly or indirectly employed
  • Forward thinking, with the ability to see problems coming before they arise and think strategically to overcome them
  • Experienced in producing plans, estimating budgets and timescales for contracts
  • Full UK driving licence
