Hawthorn Housing Cooperative is seeking a new leader to work with the Committee to take forward the organisation. The post holder will build on the legacy of progress made over the last decade and will take over from our outgoing Director who will be retiring in October/November this year.

Hawthorn Housing Cooperative is a community‑based housing co‑operative at the heart of Possilpark with a track record in partnership working. We pride ourselves on providing high‑quality homes and services. This Director role is responsible for overall management and strategic direction, ensuring effective use of resources, compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and delivery of high‑quality services that reflect the needs of tenants and communities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the organisation and work with the Committee to set strategic objectives.
  • Ensure effective use of resources, compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, and delivery of high‑quality services.
  • Support the Committee in governance responsibilities, including compliance with the Scottish Housing Regulator’s Regulatory Framework.
  • Demonstrate commercial acumen and operational delivery to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Act as a main ambassador for the cooperative in wider regeneration work and partnership forums.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Background in Housing with technical expertise to support governance responsibilities.
  • Expertise in Asset Management.
  • Degree‑educated or holding a relevant professional qualification.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body or equivalent.
  • Dynamic, people‑centric and inspirational leadership with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to balance a strategic mindset with operational delivery and strong commercial acumen.
